Report sale of unapproved pesticides

11th January 2025

BCPC is aware that the online environment has opened up many examples where by the general public are able to purchase crop protection products that are not approved for use in this country.

These products include some where the Product name itself has not been authorized in the UK, but the active ingredient has been. There are others where the active ingredient itself has no current authorisation in UK. These include, for example, products which contain the actives Imidacloprid and Karanja Oil. In many cases the product container labels shown are the original text of the label from its country of origin , and do not comply with UK Labelling requirements.

It is important that anyone coming across such products for sale on any of the online platforms should report it to CRD via the following contact: CRDEnforcement@hse.gov.uk

The following are all examples of unapproved products made available online.
