New Approvals:
• Syngenta have gained more approvals for their straight pydiflumetafen fungicide for GB use only. Besides the Miravis Alpha, Excel and Plus which are full entries in the on-line database, they now have approval under the names Miravis Arrow, Blade, Fame, Hawk, Jewel, Jive and Malt. These will be upgraded to full entries if/when intention to market is confirmed.
• Life Scientific have an Atlantis OD mimic in Milliner (M 21074) for use in GB and NI which, like Atlantis, is approved for use in winter wheat only.
• Life Scientific have also duplicated their florasulam product, Sumir, under the new name of Flywheel (M21076).
• BASF have re-registered their pyraclostrobin products Platoon, Platoon 250, Tucana, Tucana 200, Vivid and Vivid 200 under new MAPP Numbers (M21086, M21072, M21067 & M21085, M21070 & 21069) with the old products now expiring 31/5/2026.
• BASF have also extended their range of mefentrifluconazole + prothioconazole products under the names Stelya (M21093, 50+97 g/l) and Yanila (M21092, 50+95 g/l). These products complement Revypro which contains 50+100 g/l.
• Bayer have a duplicate of Helix called Torch Duo (M21073, prothioconazole + spiroxamine) which is added as PAR until intention to market is confirmed.
• Agrovista have a straight 250 g/l prothioconazole product in Profi Prothio 250 EC (M21089) which mirrors Bayer’s Proline.
• Globachem have extended their prothioconazole range with Era 300 (M21088) which, compared to Era 250, loses durum wheat from the label but gains spring oilseed rape, spring rye and triticale.
• Globachem have also gained approval for a 480 g/l mesotrione product under the name Logano (M21100) which mimics the approval of Osorno 480 in forage and grain maize.
EAMUs added:
• Afinito (M19622, flonicamid) has an EAMU for control of aphids in carrots, parsnips, swedes and turnips.
• Apron XL (M14654, metalaxy M) has an emergency EAMU for control of damping off in parsnips in GB only. The approval expires 30th June 2025.
• Clayton Aspect XL and Clayton Sabre XL (M19721 & M19725, diflufenican + flufenacet) has an EAMU for control of annual meadow-grass and annual dicotyledons in rye and triticale.
• The EAMU allowing the use of Comet (M10875, pyraclostrobin) in rye and triticale has been duplicated under a new EAMU number and so the earlier EAMU has been deleted.
• Delfin WG (M18452, Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki) has 8 new EAMUs – 4 for use in GB and 4 for use in NI. They are for control of caterpillars in a very wide range of vegetable, herb crops and fruit crops grown outdoor, under protection or under permanent protection with full enclosure. Changes to approval expiry dates:
CRD have extended the approvals of a number of products and actives, most of which are detailed below.
• The approval of many parallel approval products containing cyflufenamid has been extended to various dates in 2027 for use in GB but still is set to expire for use in NI on 30/9/2025. Products that are not parallel approvals have approval in both GB and NI until 31/12/2029!
• The approval of Shortcut (M20813, prohexadione-calcium) has been extended to 27/7/2027 for use in GB only.
• The approval of Eclipse and Nighthawk (M20529 & M2052, pyraflufen-ethyl) has been extended to 30/9/2033.
Withdrawals:
• BAS 500 06 (pyraclostrobin, M12338 and M21087) is commercially withdrawn as of 31/12/2024.
The UKPG 2025 has gone to print and so the changes listed above will not be in the new edition but they are entered in the on-line UKPG database.
