BCPC Congress to examine the impact of Brexit on the Regulatory Landscape

The outcome of the UK referendum on EU membership will have a huge impact on the regulatory, scientific and food production communities. How the agricultural and regulatory environment might change, particularly in the UK, will be addressed at the BCPC Congress which takes place in Brighton, UK on 4 – 5 October.

“This year’s Congress provides a perfect early opportunity for stakeholders across the industry to comment on, and start to uinderstand the challenges that Brexit will provide, and how the opportunities might be taken without negative effects e.g. on trading within the EU,” explains Dr. Colin Ruscoe, President of BCPC. “As always, the programme includes presentations from the crop protection and crop production communities on progress and issues in implementing EU Regulations and Directives. But this time, speakers will be giving opinion on the implications of Brexit on these, and there will be plenty of opportunity for discussion of the best and worst aspects – and for influencing the direction and priorities for change.”

The revised format BCPC Congress, introduced in 2013, offers sessions delivered by experts in the regulatory field. There will be panel discussions and the chance to attend the popular  CRD workshop – now a regular feature.
